Sejal Mistry, Lab Manager
Sejal completed her undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin. She received a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Biology. She is originally from Sugar Land, Texas, a suburb of the greater Houston area. She is currently applying to graduate school to pursue a doctoral degree with a focus in developmental psychology. Sejal is particularly interested in work that distinguishes atypical and typical development in the parent-child dyad. She is also interested in neuroendocrinology and affective neuroscience. Away from research, she spends her time practicing yoga, re-watching old TV shows and cooking Tex-Mex.
Tristin is a third year Ph.D. student in the Clinical Psychology Program at Texas A&M University. She is originally from Wisconsin; she completed her undergraduate degree at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI and her Masters Degree at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI. Tristin spent Summer 2015 as a research fellow at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University before moving to Texas A&M to begin her doctorate training. She enjoys working with children, which is evident in both her clinical and research interests. After graduating, Tristin hopes to combine her research and clinical skills as a Pediatric Neuropsychologist in an academic medical setting. Her hobbies include traveling, being with friends, and watching TV/movies.
Nevita is a junior psychology major at TAMU. She is originally from Katy, Texas and was lucky enough to spend the majority of her life in the Houston area. Nevita hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a focus on trauma. She is also interested in clinical neuroscience and mental health disorders and she hopes to do someday do work that integrates these fields. Nevita loves outdoor activities such as running/biking or any kind of outdoor adventure. She is a self-proclaimed Netflix fanatic and a lover of all animals big and small. However, most importantly, she treasures time with her loved ones and hopes to do work that makes them proud.
Mikayela is a senior Psychology major from Waco, Texas. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she will be attending graduate school for either clinical or counseling psychology. She hopes to eventually become a licensed professional counselor and work with underprivileged youth. She is a member of Psi Chi (Psychology Honor Society) and enjoys volunteering with children through the D.O.M.E. lab as well as through her church in her free time.
Kristen is a senior at Texas A&M University from Silsbee, TX. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Kristen is looking to pursue a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has a strong interest in research on mental disorders, including anxiety disorders and depression . Outside of academics, Kristen enjoys baking, traveling, and outdoor activities, including tree cutting.
JoAnna is a senior at Texas A&M and is originally from San Antonio, Texas. She majoring in Sociology and has a minor in Psychology. She is hoping to go to graduate school after she graduates to get her masters in either public health or psychology. She is hoping to either work in a hospital as a hospital administrator or get involved in more research . Some of her hobbies include hanging out with her friends, hiking, listening to music and going to concerts.
Shelby Sandoval is a junior psychology major from San Antonio, Texas. After college, she wants to become a registered nurse with a focus in neonatal nursing. She enjoys playing volleyball and marathoning “New Girl” and the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
Peyton is originally from Port Neches, Texas and is now a senior at Texas A&M University. She is majoring in psychology and will graduate with the class of 2019. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Master’s degree in counseling. Outside of studies, Peyton enjoys cooking, traveling and reading psychological thrillers.
Gina is a senior psychology major from Coppell, Texas. She’s hoping to pursue a PhD in school or clinical psychology in the fall of 2019. Specifically, she’s interested in autism and social brain research. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking, and volunteering for CARPOOL.
McKenzie is a junior psychology major from Austin, Texas. She hope to become a doctor one day and specialize in pediatrics. Some of her hobbies include soccer, piano, and painting.
