Hailey Gaige
Hailey was an Undergraduate Research Assistant for the Infant and SCD studies and a trained color for SPACE and MOMS data. The support and help she received from Dr. Brooker and her team of graduate students made the lab enjoyable and ensured that she was equipped with essential team-building skills. Hailey is a medical student at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) planning to specialize in pediatrics.
Nevita George
Nevita was a trained coder for the SPACE and MOMS projects and worked on data collection for the Infant and SCD studies. Being a part of the DOME lab helped her understand the importance of collaboration and how research functions in the sphere of developmental psychology. It taught her how to code behavioral data and run research studies with multiple parts and people involved. Nevita is now a Clinical Research Coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Karina Jalapa
Karina was a research assistant who helped with the SCD and LPP Infant study. The DOME Lab gave her valuable experience that propelled her toward a PhD program. She gained unique research experiences that many undergraduates don’t get, and was also able to make friends with students who were passionate about the same things she is passionate about. The DOME lab reinforced her passion for working with infants and children she wouldn’t have pursued graduate school with out the experience and encouragement that she received in this time. Karina is now a Ph.D. student at Florida State University.
Rachel Parker
Rachel participated in the lab as an Undergraduate Research Assistant and was an emotion coder for the MOMS and SPACE projects. She also helped set up the SCD study in its earliest days. Rachel’s time in the DOME lab cemented her passion for statistical tools and analyses. Additionally, her work in the lab enhanced her skills for attending to detail and studying emotions which is important for a career as a HR professional supporting employees. At the moment, she is pursuing an MS in Human Resource Management Student at Texas A&M.
Gina Thomas
Gina worked as a research assistant in the DOME lab which she believes played a large role in cultivating her research competencies and provided her with an excellent foundation to pursue a Ph.D. in school psychology. Her involvement increased her own awareness of the individual differences in social emotional development and led her to develop specific interests that will guide her future research endeavors. Gina is currently a rising second year Psychology PhD student at the University of Georgia.
Kate Jennings
Kate graduated from Texas A&M in 2021. Former lab manager, she is now a developmental psychology PhD student at the University of Connecticut where she works in the Biobehavioral Adjustment and Neurodevelopment Lab. Her research interests include intergenerational transmission of mental health risk and the biological factors of the risk process.
Lauren Delaunay
Lauren was a 2023 graduate with a major in psychology. She is currently waiting to hear back from PhD and Master’s programs in Clinical Psychology. She desires to understand the early role of life experiences and shaping mental health outcomes as well as explore the efficacy of different treatment approaches for a variety of mental health concerns.
Peter Ramirez
Peter graduated in 2023 as psychology major with a minor in neuroscience. Peter plans on pursuing a doctoral degree in clinical psychology with the hopes of becoming a clinical neuropsychologist.
Reese Burkey
Reese was a part of the class of 2023 and pursued a Psychology major with a minor in Neuroscience. She is now conducting research at Virginia Tech in early childhood brain development with the Cognition, Affect, and Psychophysiology Lab. Reese hopes to pursue a doctoral degree in clinical psychology with hopes to one day work with children and families as a practitioner and researcher.
Abigail Varghese
Abby will be attending graduate school at the University of Texas to pursue a counseling program in August 2024.
Anna Morales-Wade
Anna will be attending an accelerated BSN program at UT Health Houston Cizik School of Nursing in August 2024.
Corrigan LeValley
Corrigan was a Post-Baccalaureate Research Assistant in the DOME Lab. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Corrigan has been accepted into Texas State’s Masters in Professional Counseling program with a concentration in clinical mental health counseling for Fall 2024.
Jenny Kling
Jenny has recently graduated with her PhD from Texas A&M University. Her favorite aspect of being in the DOME Lab was getting to work with the amazing families. Her research interests include the neural behavioral correlates of risk for psychopathology and the trajectories of emotional development.
Sejal Mistry
Dr. Mistry graduated with her PhD from Texas A&M University in 2024. Her favorite part of the DOME Lab was getting to work with a team of hardworking and curious undergraduate research assistants. Her research focuses on statistical methods to broaden understanding of the complex developmental processes, specifically in maternal and child relations.
Mariana Zarate
Mariana recently graduated from Texas A&M and will be taking a gap year before applying for her PhD in clinical psychology. She aspires to become a child psychologist and professor. Her favorite part of lab was the dedication and effort everyone showed.
